Allen Heritage Village

WITH A NOD TO THE PAST, THE GARDENS AT ALLEN HERITAGE VILLAGE DELIGHT PEOPLE AND POLLINATORS
Allen Heritage Village is located at 450 E. St. Mary Drive, across from the Allen Senior Center. The park presents the architectural and cultural heritage of Allen through an immersive display of four historic homes and two landmark churches.
A diverse network of gardens complements the structures and features native and adapted plants arranged to create year-round interest. Home gardeners will discover new plants and plant combinations to try, while history buffs will appreciate seeing pass-along-plants starring in many of the gardens.
The Collin County Master Gardeners Association developed the landscaping in partnership with the City of Allen, Allen Garden Club, Allen Heritage Guild. Collin County Master Gardeners and their community partners continue to develop and care for the gardens to achieve several objectives.
- Inspire the public to value and engage with Earth-Kind® principles of landscape management.
- Design, maintain and renovate garden areas to complement the historic buildings and also expand biodiversity.
- Create a dynamic horticultural learning environment for students of all ages.
The park is across the street from the Allen Senior Center and adjacent to Cottonwood Creek. On-site parking is available and the park also can be reached on foot or bicycle at the end of one of Allen's scenic woodland trails.

Earth-Kind® landscaping principles and practices are used at the Allen Heritage Village in planning, planting and maintaining the gardens. These practices include Earth-Kind landscape design, plant selection, soil preparation, planting and mulching. Efforts are made in every phase of work to preserve and protect the environment, while also creating beautiful gardens that bring pleasure to people.
