The Interactive Adult Education Committee provides educational opportunities for the public throughout the year. On February 18, 2017, our "Spring into Vegetable Gardening" class is scheduled at the Landing at Myers Park & Event Center in McKinney to assist all of us in Collin County with planning vegetable gardens. Master Gardeners also work with cities in Collin County to provide volunteer workers at educational gardening events as needed. During the Garden Show at Myers Park in March, Master Gardeners provide 10-12 public interactive demonstration booths with many children's activities. Booths have information on areas of interest including: container gardening, lawn care, pollinators, propagation, shade gardens, trees for Collin County, vegetable gardens, water conservation, herbs and Earth-Kind® gardens.

Spring INTO vEGETABLE gARDENING
Collin County Master Gardeners will host “Spring into Vegetable Gardening" on February 18, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon in The Landing at Myers Park in McKinney. The focus of the program will be basic vegetable gardening in Collin County. Our goal is to offer the public opportunities to learn from veteran vegetable gardeners and local experts through lectures and hands-on displays.
Master Gardeners will be available to answer your questions on soil preparation, plant selection, seeds or transplants, row covers, vertical gardening, and Integrated Pest Management in the vegetable garden. Our experts will discuss plant varieties and the planting calendar for Collin County gardens. Irrigation and rainwater harvesting specialists will be leading demonstration table lessons.
Registration for this program is closed.
We look forward to seeing you there.
